CT Home Invasion Suspect Pistol Whips Boy, Police Say

A 13-year-old Connecticut boy suffered serious head and face injuries after a man forced his way into a home.

The incident took place in Fairfield County around 10:45 a.m., Friday, March 11, at a residence on Wildman Street in Danbury.

When police arrived on the scene, the youth told officers that a white man forced his way in after answering his front door, pointed a gun at him, and demanded money, said Det. Lt. Mark Williams,  of the Danbury Police.

When the youth failed to comply, the man repeatedly struck him in the head and face with the handgun, Williams said.

The suspect stole a PlayStation before leaving the residence, police said.

A description of the suspect was broadcasted to other responding units, who located and arrested a suspect a short distance from the home, Williams said.

He was identified as Mario Alfonso Dominguez, age 18, of Danbury. 

The weapon and PlayStation, as of now, have not been located, Williams said.

"Investigators are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident," he added.

Dominguez was arrested and charged with:

  • Robbery 1st w/deadly weapon
  • Larceny 
  • Disorderly conduct
  • assault 1st
  • Risk of injury to a child
  • Home invasion

He was being held on a $250,000 bond.
